truSculpt iD is an innovative and non-invasive fat reduction treatment that harnesses monopolar radiofrequency energy to melt fat that is sandwiched between the skin and muscle layers. Using truSculpt iD’s proprietary technology, heat is evenly distributed to the entire fat layer being treated while simultaneously protecting your skin’s surface. A single 15-minute treatment, on average, destroys approximately 24% of your fat cells in the target area.
Aside from its clinically-proven efficacy, truSculpt iD treatments are tailored to the needs of each patient. Six individual handpieces allow for treatment that is customized to the individual curves of your body and, if desired, targeting multiple areas simultaneously. The medication first received approval in 2015 and has since become a staple of modern cosmetic practices. The main active ingredient in Kybella is a naturally occuring compound in our body called deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid plays a major role in our body’s ability to dissolve fatty acids after the ingestion of a high-fat meal. This same molecule also has the ability to dissolve fat cells and their contents in other parts of the body. In addition to the immediate liquefaction of fat, Kybella also helps to prevent future accumulation of fat by destroying the cellular storage sites in the areas that are targeted.
During your treatment visit, Dr. Khorasani will carefully mark the areas to be treated and overlay it with a grid-like patterned stencil. After numbing the treatment zone, each section of the grid will receive a small injection of Kybella directly into the fat cells. The number of injections per treatment varies according to the target area, but typically ranges from twenty to thirty injections. Most patients will require two to five treatments, spaced six weeks apart, for optimal results.
