BLU-U® PDT: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a non-invasive technique used to treat precancerous lesions, called actinic keratosis. AminoLevulinic Acid (ALA), a special light-sensitive medication, is applied to the skin affected by the precancerous lesions and allowed to remain there for over one hour. Afterwards, a blue light is directed to the skin and this activates the ALA and selectively destroys the precancerous cells. Patients can experience excellent results with a course of treatments using BLU-U® PDT.
